1. Acceptance
By using thebetterdailylife.com (the “Site”) or creating an account, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Who can use the Site and create an account
The free learning tools (the compound calculator, lessons, and quiz) are open to everyone. Creating an account in the Virtual Investing Lab is intended only for people who are 18 or older, or for a parent, guardian, or teacher who is setting up and supervising use on behalf of a child. By creating an account you confirm you meet one of these. The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly permit children under 13 to create accounts.
3. Educational purpose — not financial advice
Everything in the Virtual Investing Lab uses virtual (pretend) money. No real money, securities, or trades are involved. Figures are educational estimates and, where based on market data, may be delayed or inaccurate. Nothing on the Site is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and nothing is a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Investing involves risk, and past performance does not predict future results.
4. Your account
Keep your password confidential and do not share your account. You are responsible for activity under your account. Please tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You can change your password, export your data, or delete your account at any time from the “account” menu inside the Lab.
5. Acceptable use
Please do not misuse the Site: no attempting to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to it; no scraping or automated data harvesting; and no using it for any unlawful purpose.
6. Children’s privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where an account is set up by a parent, guardian, or teacher, that adult is responsible for supervising the child’s use. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. See our Privacy Policy for more.
7. Third-party services
We use trusted providers to run the Site: Cloudflare (hosting and storage), Google (optional sign-in), Resend (account emails such as password resets), and Beehiiv (the optional newsletter). Your use of those features is also subject to those providers’ terms.
8. Intellectual property
The Site’s content, design, and code are owned by The Better Daily, LLC or its licensors and are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. Please do not copy or redistribute them without permission.
9. Disclaimers
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any market data shown will be accurate or timely.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Better Daily, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on the Site. Because the Lab uses only virtual money, it cannot itself cause real financial loss.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and we agree that the state and federal courts located in Wisconsin will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Site.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information The Better Daily, LLC (“we”) collects through thebetterdailylife.com, why, and the choices you have. The free learning tools work without an account; the items below mostly apply when you create an account or join the newsletter.
1. What we collect
If you create an email account: your email address and your password (stored only as a salted, hashed value — we never store or see your actual password). If you sign in with Google: a Google account identifier and your email, provided by Google. For all signed-in users: the virtual portfolio you build (holdings, trades, watchlist — all pretend money). If you opt in: your email is added to our newsletter. Our host (Cloudflare) also processes standard technical data such as IP address for security and reliability.
2. How we use it
To sign you in and save your virtual portfolio across devices; to send you account emails such as password-reset links; to send the newsletter if you opted in; and to keep the Site secure and working. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party ads.
3. Legal basis (EU/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process your account data to provide the service you requested, and we send the newsletter on the basis of your consent (which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email).
4. Who processes your data
We share data only with the service providers that run the Site: Cloudflare (hosting and storage), Google (optional sign-in), Resend (transactional emails), and Beehiiv (the newsletter). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments.
5. Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Accounts are intended for adults, or for a parent, guardian, or teacher acting for a child. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
6. Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account data until you delete it. You can export your data or delete your account and saved portfolios at any time from the “account” menu inside the Lab. The newsletter is managed separately — unsubscribe from the footer of any newsletter email.
7. Your rights
You can access, export, correct, or delete your data. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK or California), you may have additional rights, including the right to object to certain processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. 8. International data transfers
Our providers may store and process data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred internationally, our providers apply recognized safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) under their terms.
9. Security
We protect data with measures including salted password hashing, encrypted storage of secret keys, and encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
